Scenario Overview: PrecisionCare is a leading healthcare provider specializing in precision medicine, focusing on personalized treatments and care for patients with complex medical conditions. PrecisionCare delivers tailored therapies by leveraging genomic data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence, aiming to improve patient outcomes. The organization has several clinics across the United States and Europe, with its headquarters based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Technical Environment: The on-premises network includes two Active Directory forests named corp.precisioncare.com and research.precisioncare.com. The corp.precisioncare.com forest supports internal user authentication, while research.precisioncare.com is dedicated to the R&D department and restricted to on-premises resources only.
An existing application, PatientConnect, is hosted in the Boston office’s data center. It supports patient appointment scheduling, personalized treatment plans, and data analytics. PatientConnect is hosted on virtual machines using Hyper-V with a web tier running on IIS and a database tier using SQL Server 2019.
PrecisionCare plans to migrate the production and testing environments of PatientConnect to Azure. As part of this move, PrecisionCare is developing a hybrid identity model to support an upcoming Microsoft 365 deployment.
